For more than two decades, I worked across multiple industries, started businesses, experienced success, failure and uncertainty. Over time, I realized that while industries change, the principles of learning, decision-making and execution remain remarkably consistent.
Alongside my professional career, I repeatedly tried to build businesses of my own.
Some failed because I lacked experience. Others failed because I misunderstood the systems I was operating in. A few simply arrived at the wrong time.
Each failure left behind something more valuable than the business itself: a better understanding of how competence is actually built.
That journey eventually led to skilltech108.
This website is an exploration of how learning unfolds through inquiry, feedback, systems thinking and conscious detachment.
At its centre is The Inquiry Series—ten chapters that explore how information becomes understanding, understanding becomes wisdom, and wisdom shapes the learner.
The essays here examine questions such as:
- Why do some people improve while others repeat the same effort?
- How does information become capability?
- What role does feedback play in learning?
- Why do experience and judgment take longer to develop than knowledge?
I write under the name Kartikeya because I want the focus to remain on the ideas rather than the individual. The purpose of this website is not to build a personal brand, but to pursue inquiry through observation, experience and reflection.
